Installing the Quick-Connect Adapter to the Cylinder
NOTE: A torque wrench with a 24 mm open end is necessary for installation.

1.

Use only a fully charged cylinder. |
|
2.
|
Make sure there is no dirt, debris, or damage on the external threads and bore of the cylinder valve assembly. |
|
3.
|
If the cylinder valve assembly is damaged, remove the SCBA from service and return it to an MSA trained or certified repair technician. |
|
|
|
|
4.
|
Make sure there is no dirt, debris, or damage on the internal threads and nipple of the male adapter. |
|
5.
|
Make sure there is no dirt or debris on the O-ring, and that it is installed on the nipple. |
|
|
|
|
6.
|
Hold the cylinder valve assembly tightly and connect the male adapter to the valve. |
|
7.
|
Use a torque wrench to tighten the adapter to 13 – 15 ft·lbf (18 – 20 N·m). |
