Troubleshooting
Condition | Corrective Action | |
---|---|---|
| Unit does not have power |
| Instrument was not auto-detected |
| Buzzer is not working or is not loud enough |
| Channel does not appear to be showing proper reading |
| Failed to recognize hardware | Ensure input module is properly secured and connected to bus |
| Touchscreen not responding |
| Relay not operating as expected |
| Analog output is not working | Ensure wiring is properly installed to support desired configuration |
| Local transmitter settings do not match controller settings (example: set-points, scale, units) |
| Instrument reading does not match controller reading |
| Channel not reporting an alarm |
| Discrete/Digital Input not working |
| System time incorrect |
| Communication output not working |
| Forgotten/lost password | Call MSA |
| TagName is not correct | Check setting for instrument on channel |
| Manual Identification |
Refer to detector for necessary manual identification information |
| Wrong instrument connected to channel |
| Sensor 2 not displayed for dual sensor transmitter (X5000 and S5000) |
HART devices only report sensor 1. Use the generic setup to manually configure sensor 2. |
| Wrong user manual shown for channel |
| Change from 3 to 2 setpoints (or vice versa) | Check configuration and change, if needed |
| Discrete/digital input not latching |
Check settings on controller NOTE: Once 3 alarm setpoint configuration is selected, 2 setpoint configuration is not allowed due to inadvertent changes to Cause & Effect and Voting. Changing to 2 setpoint configuration requires Reset Configuration. |
| Remote silence not working | Check wiring |
| Remote reset not working |
| Relay contact not powered | Most relays are dry—Check manual for wetting contact |
| View/export program logic |
| Cannot configure "two relay voting" scheme | Create second voting scheme that uses same inputs with a different output |
| Not all channels displayed on dashboard |
| Fault code on screen | Any fault code shown is derived from HART command 48. See instrument display for more information |
| Can I export trends | Copy file from SD card directory <dir> |
| Can I export cause & effect | Copy file from SD card directory <dir> |
| Oxygen Alarms can't write to detectors | Note that Alarm set-points for Oxygen sensors cannot be written to the detectors. This is because some Oxygen sensors utilize upward acting alarms and SENTRY io uses only downward acting alarms for Oxygen therefore this rule prevents inconsistencies in operation. Setpoints at these detectors need to be altered manually. |
